What to Expect

Registration Fees - Deadline to Register is May 11, 2026

$395 All Access Pass fee for CAIW  members in good standing

  • $495 All Access Pass fee for non-members
  • *The Tradeshow Vendor package  ($1250) includes 2 admission tickets for the Fun Night on Thursday and all-day access to Education Day on Friday.

Accommodations 

OIPA has blocked a set number of rooms at the Westin Trillium House at Blue Mountain at the special conference rate of $249.00 CAD per night for check in June 11 check out June 14.

Extended stay rooms can be booked up to 3 days pre conference and 3 days post conference at the conference rate at a first come first serve basis as these rooms are very limited.

Nelson Higgins, VP North America, DocuSketch


Nelson is the Vice President, North America at DocuSketch. Prior to DocuSketch, Nelson

was the founder and COO of XTR Consulting Inc. His home base is in Halifax, NS,

Canada, but he covers projects throughout North America. He currently holds an XCT

(Xactimate Certified Trainer) certificate and has held this designation for over 10 years.

With more than 35 years of experience in the insurance industry from both the

contractor and adjuster perspectives. He is experienced in all aspects of scoping and

estimating property damages of residential and commercial buildings and has been

involved in completing estimates and projects of all sizes through completion. He has

gained a vast amount of knowledge on leveraging new technologies to help clients

with in-depth documentation and has spoken regularly about how technology is

changing the insurance industry.


Topic Description

This 1-hour presentation will discuss how the insurance industry has changed in the

last 60 years, particularly with how documentation in both the pre- and post-loss

environments has changed. He will also discuss the evolution that some our current

tools are undergoing, and how emerging tools (such as AI) are going to affect

documentation into the future.


Lisa Armstrong and Laura Emmett, SBA Law


Lisa Armstrong

As the managing partner of SBA, Lisa leads by example, proving to every team

member, there’s no challenge too great to be overcome with a smile and her

signature laugh. Lisa is a skilled litigator and problem solver. Clients trust Lisa because

she brings a level head and a sense of calm to every situation, no matter how high the

stakes. Lisa has argued some landmark accident benefits cases before the Court of

Appeal. In particular, she has been on the front lines in defining the applicable

limitation periods in accident benefits matters.


Laura Emmett

Laura has set herself apart as a leader in the legal profession and insurance industry.

She has won so many professional awards that we had to lease more web site space

to list them all. She is driven to achieve the best possible outcome in the courtroom, in

arbitrations or through negotiation. Not one to shy away from a challenge, whether it is

a legal issue or running class five rapids on the Nile River, she is driven to win and her

client’s happiness is her greatest success. She is often invited to speak at National and

International Conferences on a range of topics.


Topic Description 

This 1-hour presentation will explore the future of leadership from a unique and entertaining perspective, focusing on how we can apply the leadership approach of the entertaining sports comedy, Ted Lasso, to our workplaces. We will delve into how Ted’s “be a good person, respect others, and judge no one” philosophy can help your organization not just survive, but thrive, in changing and challenging times. This presentation will include entertaining examples from Lasso, the fictional English soccer coach, and share the top ten ways organizations can apply Lasso’s unique style to build success and satisfaction. 


Keynote – Adenike Charles 


She is a Certified Personal Trainer/Athletic Trainer, certified life coach, nutritional specialist, and motivational speaker. She holds a Bachelor’s of Science Degree in Kinesiology and a Minor in Sports Medicine, a Can Fit Pro Certified Personal Trainer, and a wife and a mother to two children who are actively into Rep sports. She is an insurance industry veteran, having spent 19 years in insurance before starting her own health and wellness business. Adenike thrives on seeing people living healthy and active lives. She is a motivator who will positively impact your life and bring out the best in you. 


Topic 

Description During this 1.5-hour presentation Adenike will bring her unique experience and background insurance and wellness to share practical tools on how mental, emotional, and physical wellness are all connected—and essential to building sustainable, generational health for employees. How by prioritizing employee well-being, we create stronger, more resilient organizations.
